Health Enabling for Listening Professionals (HELP)
Professional translators and interpreters are called upon to act as language tools, but inevitable they bare witness to the trauma and the pain of those they serve.
The HELP workshop focuses on supporting translators and interpreters in developing and maintaining healthy practices: this allows them to continue to provide the best possible language service to clients while enhancing their own well-being.
HELP is a full-day experiential workshop for those who
interpret and translate stress and trauma.
Participants have the opportunity to:
Create a personalized self care plan.
Learn about trauma and how to counteract its effects on the body and the mind.
Create a journal.
Sample multiple relaxation techniques.
Experience aromatherapy and take home information and samples.
Recapture your passion for the the profession!
Recognize: The detrimental effects of interpreting and translating others pain.
Accept: The physical and emotional challenges of the profession.
Change: Learn to incorporate a successful self care plan in your and personal and professional life.
